Laura Alicia Garcia Cid

 

  • During law school,Laura Alicia Garcia Cid was the associate symposium editor of the American University Law Review and interned with a federal judge at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Prior to law school, Laura Alicia Garcia Cid was a bilingual teacher in Dallas, Texas, through Teach for America, and she was an intern at the U.S. House of Representatives. She is a native of Miami, Florida.
  • Advised clients on issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, including navigating financial relief provisions for health care providers under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and assessing the regulatory implications of COVID-19 testing programs.
  • Advised private equity and other strategic investors during health care transactions in the pharmaceutical, hospice, home health, and dental service industries.
  • Advised health care and research institutions in connection with investigations involving research misconduct, international research collaborations, and “foreign influence” regulations.
  • Advised health care organizations regarding compliance with HIPAA, 42 C.F.R Part 2, state data privacy laws, state data breach notification requirements, federal and state fraud and abuse laws, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, and health care facility licensure laws.
  • Defended pharmaceutical companies against allegations of violations of the False Claims Act and the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act.
  • Advised a pro bono client with the development and implementation of a health care regulatory compliance program.
